Aargau is a canton without a dominant centre: instead of one large city, it is shaped by several mid-sized centres and a dense network of long-established rural municipalities. Construction activity is distributed accordingly — residential and administrative building in and around Aarau, Baden, Wettingen, Brugg and Zofingen, industrial and logistics buildings along the transport corridors of the Fricktal and the lower Aare valley, plus schools, care facilities and municipal buildings in communities growing through inward migration from the Zurich and Basel areas.

This position between two metropolitan regions is decisive in building terms: the Limmat valley and the Baden area are under densification pressure, while the Freiamt, the Seetal and parts of the Fricktal remain smaller in scale — with different demands on access, townscape and choice of materials. A further economic focus lies on energy and industrial facilities in the Aare valley. The references on this page reflect that range.

This selection covers exclusively projects of the construction type new build located in the canton of Aargau — from single-family and apartment buildings through residential developments and senior residences to schools, kindergartens, commercial and industrial buildings, warehouses and logistics facilities, administrative buildings as well as sports and leisure facilities.

Conversions, refurbishments, storey additions and demolitions are deliberately not included: they are a construction type of their own and can be reached via the project search.

What a reference contains

Every reference stands for a building that was actually completed. Documented are photos, building type, construction type, location and year of completion, along with the companies involved in the build — depending on the project: clients, specialist planners, main contractor, timber construction, building envelope, building services, interior fit-out or landscaping.

The information comes from research by Losys GmbH and in part from the firms involved. Each project page leads to the profiles of the companies involved and from there to their further references — including outside the canton of Aargau.
