Vetsuisse Hospital University of Zurich New Building Network Backup System [NEA]

In the new VTH building, a high-performance network backup system will be installed at a central location in the veterinary hospital. This consists of a single diesel generator unit. In network backup mode, the electrical energy from the generator terminals is fed via an underground cable into the site's low-voltage main distribution in building TFA and distributed throughout the entire site via the existing cable network. Load shedding of consumers not entitled to network backup is only possible at the new building distribution point of the small animal clinic TKK. Given current consumer load, the entire veterinary hospital is entitled to network backup. In case of network failure, consumers in the veterinary hospital experience a supply interruption of at most 30 seconds. When the network returns, the switchback occurs without interruption.
