Construction of the new Collège de Chanel began in spring 2022 and aims for opening in September 2024. The project includes demolition of the old school, construction of 22 new classrooms and two gymnasiums. Work is progressing well with facades nearly complete and technical equipment being installed. The building, designed to very low energy consumption standards, includes vegetated roofs and solar panels. The project's sustainable approach reduces carbon impact through the use of timber structures and a future connection to a wood-based district heating system.
