AMAG Automobil- und Motoren AG is building Switzerland's largest Porsche Centre in Schlieren and a state-of-the-art VW Center. The rapidly growing model range of Volkswagen requires another new building for VW in Zurich.
Over approximately 4,000 square meters of the nearly 12,000 square meter site on Bernstrasse in Schlieren, the new Porsche Centre Zurich and VW Center Zurich West will be built in the coming months.
Architecture with clear formal language
The two monolithic building structures characterize the surroundings. The curved facade front of the Porsche Centre catches the eye and distinguishes the building from neighboring structures. The framed building structure of the VW Center is equally distinctive with its characteristic glass front.
The new construction was planned according to Minergie standards. The facades consist largely of metal and thermal insulation glass. Through thermal insulation and ventilation, both centers are well-prepared for future energy requirements. All waste heat is recovered, rainwater is collected and used for car washing.
