Comprehensive renovation
Runway 16/34, at 3,700 meters the longest at Zurich Airport, has been undergoing comprehensive renovation since last autumn. To avoid disrupting regular flight operations, work on the runway takes place during the flight operation break at night. The runway renovation renews existing infrastructure; there is no expansion or capacity increase. Depending on weather conditions, the renovation work should be completed by late autumn 2008.
