The institute building Y36 from 1993 was conceived and built, like building Y17, as a laboratory building (building technology, technical control centers, etc.). However, to date it has only been developed as an office building and is currently still being used accordingly.
Floors L and M are now to be converted to laboratory use and remodeled for this purpose. Multifunctional laboratories with biological safety levels two and three are planned. In addition, a regional laboratory for the examination of samples in case of suspected bioterrorism attacks will be integrated. Various groups from the Medical Faculty will use these facilities in the future.
