On the grounds of the existing Trotte retirement home, a replacement new building with 93 beds will be constructed. The current Trotte retirement home is one of the oldest in Zurich and no longer meets the requirements for contemporary structures and efficient operational processes. The complex space program for the new building includes, in addition to individual areas and communal spaces, service areas for third-party users. For the first time in a design competition by the City of Zurich, Minergie-P was defined as an objective, thereby addressing the legislative priority "Sustainable City Zurich - on the path to a 2000-watt society".
