The Eichrain residential development is a clear commitment to urban living on the city outskirts. Located near Zurich's northern bypass, the three meandering, five-storey residential rows of the complex have a distinctive structure in a heterogeneous environment. A superordinate footpath provides access to the residential quarter and simultaneously connects it with its neighbourhood. A central plaza serves as a play street and communication area. The size of the apartments varies between studio and five-room units. Living, play and work spaces flow around the «central core» equipped for wet rooms. As a result, and due to ceiling heights of 2.60 metres and large balconies with sliding doors, a special spatial living situation has been created.
