The Oeschberg horticultural school (GSO) is being modernized because the existing greenhouses (built 1967-1981) no longer meet the requirements of contemporary education. The replacement construction comprises 3,000 m² of production area, a display house, a flower shop, a floristry studio, and additional classrooms. Planned measures include flood protection, pile foundations, and the use of renewable energies. Construction will run from May 2024 to June 2026, at a cost of CHF 17.88 million. During this time, plant production will be outsourced to maintain operations.
