School complex Nordstrasse, Pavilion ZM10

The school complex with a heritage-listed school building is located on the busy Rosengarten and Nordstrasse roads and is spatially enclosed by a break hall.

The old concrete pavilion will be replaced by a new Zürimodular building in 2013. This creates a new zoning concept that will be redesigned. The open playground for ball games, a seating area with trees between the buildings and a play and retreat area on the south side. A sandstone wall allows for a gentle separation between the different uses and also serves as a low seating wall. In the protected area on the south side, in addition to a circular bench around a new linden tree, fruit trees, berry bushes and herbs will be planted.

The narrow passage between the pavilion and the existing retaining wall is transformed into an experiential corridor by a hazel and field maple grove, thereby losing its unpleasant atmosphere.
