Officially launched on November 1, 1954, French-language Swiss television initially worked in the tiny Mon Repos studio and with a mobile reporting unit at the "provisional" mobile TV center in Lausanne. In June 1955, a real 400m2 studio was set up at Radio-Geneva for the "provisional" fixed TV center in Geneva. In March 1955, the Dôle transmitter was finally put into service and the TSR teams became more professional. In January 2010, French-language Swiss Radio (RSR) and French-language Swiss Television (TSR) merged to create a single entity: Swiss Radio Television (RTS). The latter then committed to a major media integration project. The project includes two dimensions: the merger of radio and television companies to develop efficiency and the progressive cooperation of radio, television and web programs. On February 29, 2012, RTS reached an important new milestone, on one hand with the reorganization of its entire brand system and visual identity. And on the other hand with the launch of its new internet platform RTS.ch, which brings together in a single interactive offer the best of radio and television. The Geneva site houses five TV studios, three control rooms, a News studio and a Sports studio, 22 editing suites, post-production equipment, set design and construction workshops.
