Geneva International Airport

On October 11, 1919, the Geneva Grand Council voted a law establishing an "airfield" approximately 4 km north of the city, near the village of Cointrin. In 1920, the Federal Office of Civil Aviation authorized commercial operations in Cointrin.
Today, the Geneva airport platform welcomes 13 million passengers, more than 10% more than in 2010. In the same period, movements (takeoffs and landings) increased by approximately 7%. Freight activity grew by nearly 8%. For the third consecutive year, the title of most efficient airport in its category was awarded to the Geneva platform.
