LASSALLE-HAUS BAD SCHÖNBRUNN
A place: Bad Schönbrunn
Even before the first building stood here, the springs in the hilly moraine landscape above the Lorze were called «at the Beautiful Fountain». When Switzerland was discovered as a health resort in the 19th century, the location inspired the construction of a spa house. It attracted guests from all over Europe. In 1929 it was taken over by the Jesuits and served religious and general adult education. Having become dilapidated, the spa house had to make way for a new building in 1968. Zurich architect André Studer composed the new building according to the «harmonic building method» into the spring area. Today the building and the park blend into a dialogical whole. Garden architect Josef Seleger developed the complex with the old trees of the spa grounds. Simplicity and clarity speak from the overall composition to the guests and make Bad Schönbrunn a place of power of a special kind.
