Development "Kürberghang" 8049 Zurich

The magnificent panoramic location on one of Zurich's "mountains" demanded from us an architecture that takes account of this special fact.

Glass dominates the valley-facing facades. The necessary closures along the building-surrounding balconies and terraces are also glazed and allow the view to be enjoyed while standing, sitting and lying down.

The multi-layered visible stone facade desired by the client appears simple and straightforward. The implementation of this requirement was quite demanding for us as architects and site managers, the structural engineer and the involved contractors. The small visible stone was the measure of all things for everyone involved in the building. Every height, every width and every depth on the building, and also on individual components, had to be planned and executed in harmony with this stone format.
