The new spectacular extension of the Lucerne Hotel Astoria now features an additional 90 rooms. The building designed by the Basel star architects Herzog & de Meuron with extravagant glass facades is conceived after a glacier crevasse.
The new Hotel Astoria consists of three buildings, in the center of which gigantic glacier crevasses made of mirrored glass gape open. They extend from the ground floor to the eighth floor and are an incomparable eye-catcher. But the crevasses and glass facade are of course far more than just spectacular showpieces.
