The school buildings are being extended with two external staircases to enable learning ateliers in the corridor areas and to ensure contemporary school instruction. A comprehensive renovation of the facility is being carried out to reduce contaminant exposure below limit values. The existing materials are characterized by their remarkably good condition and careful, robust execution. Special attention is paid to color, texture, and durability of the building components to be replaced, to emphasize the desired flexibility of use. Ash wood is used for heavily stressed doors and work surfaces, while veneered designs are used for the acoustic ceilings. Linoleum as a proven and pleasant flooring and ceramic tiles on the reused school wall fountains give the classrooms a contemporary color scheme.
