A center where architectural culture is the focal point and is communicated in an easily understandable way does not yet exist in Switzerland. The goal of the SHS is to close this gap in the existing educational offerings by establishing the Center for Architectural Culture in Villa Patumbah. It offers schools and other interested parties the opportunity to engage directly with monument preservation, architecture, spatial planning, and landscape. Villa Patumbah in Zurich is excellently suited for this purpose. With its rich and extravagant decorations, it has an extraordinary atmosphere. The villa is the central exhibition object. The villa and the ancillary building are currently in need of renovation. However, the actual restoration is only subject to the competition insofar as the concept development must reconcile the specific requirements of monument preservation with the needs of future users (SHS / Center for Architectural Culture) (mainly in the interior area).
