Hexagon – Farsighted Living in the Heart of Männedorf
The four hexagonal building structures follow the natural terrain and form a

harmonious ensemble with the existing residential buildings in the surrounding area. Thanks to their

sophisticated deviation from the right angle and the hexagonal floor plan, they appear

lighter and smaller than they actually are. In addition to the successful integration into the

landscape, the external concept is characterized by its high-quality architectural

expression and its classical-modern clarity. The buildings are accessed at basement level

respectively street level from Hofenstrasse. This creates undisturbed, private garden use

for the ground floor apartments with extremely generous surroundings.

Through their coloring, formal language and materialization, the buildings indicate from the outside

that they consist of exceptional owner-occupied apartments. But for all their playfulness,

the houses are simply and clearly constructed. The façade is clad with large-format asbestos cement panels.

The floor slabs are accentuated with metal bands and thus underscore the vertical stratification

of the buildings. Balconies and terraces are covered with wooden grids. Through the uniform soffit cladding,

they form a beautiful unity with the building. The garden areas, balconies and roof terraces

of all apartments are organized according to the same principle. Thanks to their three-sided

orientation towards the lake and the exterior space, they create a feeling of individuality,

provide privacy and give each apartment a single-family home character.
