The structure was built in 1967 by architect Gianpeter Gaudy as a fair-faced concrete building. In the 1980s, the first renovation took place, during which the façade was completely insulated and fitted with blue metal cladding. The insulation from that time no longer meets current standards. The energy retrofit therefore includes a removal back to the original façade. The building will be completely re-insulated to restore its original concrete character. Polymer concrete elements and pre-weathered wood will be used. The roof will also be newly insulated and equipped with a photovoltaic system, and additionally the building will be connected to the district heating network.
