The office building of BKW Energie AG at Bahnhofstrasse 20 will undergo comprehensive renovation after approximately 40 years of operation. In December 2021, the authorities in Ostermundigen granted building permission. The renovation includes the renovation of the office building including an extension and goods delivery annex with expansion of the basement near Oberdorfstrasse, redesign of the building envelope with lightweight metal-glass construction, interior expansion, and redesign of the surrounding area taking into account the protected tree population. The construction project will be carried out according to the Minergie-Eco-P standard.
