A new laboratory complex with the highest biological safety levels 3 and 4 was built on the grounds of the Spiez laboratory. The VBS Security Laboratory enables safe and rapid diagnosis of potential biological warfare agents or special pathogens and is available to both the military and civilian sectors for event management and research purposes.
