University of Zurich SOC Museum of Medical History (DSI)

The former cantonal physics building of the University of Zurich was converted to the DSI (Digital Society Initiative) after the closure of the Museum of Medical History and redesigned for future digital use. The building, which is under monument protection, was adapted in terms of technology to meet high requirements for digital communication, while always taking into consideration the need to preserve its architectural and heritage characteristics and to integrate them into the existing building structures. In work areas, an attractive room atmosphere and optimal working conditions are created with high cost-effectiveness. This principle also applies to buildings where architecturally valuable and heritage-related features must be considered. The LED technology used offers longevity and optimal light output while consuming minimal energy.
