Ka-We-De (Kunsteisbahn und Wellenbad Dählhölzli, Bern) is undergoing comprehensive renovation: the historic bathing and ice stadium from the 1930s remains under monument protection and is being brought up to the latest technical standards. New ice and water pools, improved thermal insulation, building services and water treatment; heating in future with heat pump and waste heat recovery, with two photovoltaic systems on the roofs. Overall, new lounging areas and wooden benches are being created, accessible access for people with disabilities, renovated water and ice rink technology as well as modern infrastructure for sport and leisure – combined with the original architectural charm of the interwar period.
