In the year 451, a bishop of Chur was mentioned for the first time, and since then the court has been the place of activity of the bishops of the Diocese of Chur. Next to the cathedral is the Bishop's Castle, which serves as the residence of the diocesan bishop and houses the Bishop's Ordinariat. Numerous believers and pastoral workers came here to speak with the bishop and meet with him. Now the restoration of this historic building is underway, which is also a cultural monument of national significance. The restoration concept provides, in addition to maintenance, improved use of the castle, including the integration of the Cathedral Treasury Museum and the reopening of the "Chur Images of Death" from the 16th century.
