With investments of around 430 million francs, the exhibition grounds in Basel will undergo significant modernization by 2013. The main components of the project, which was developed by the Basel architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron on behalf of the MCH Group: Hall 1 will be expanded towards the exhibition plaza, Building 3 next to the parking garage will be renovated, and the two new hall complexes will be connected by a two-storey structure spanning the exhibition plaza.
