An innovative process makes it possible to produce approximately 6,000,000 cubic meters of biogas or 41,000,000 kilowatt-hours of energy from 30,000 tons of organic by-products and waste, primarily from meat processing. The biogas is upgraded to natural gas quality and fed into the regional natural gas network.
After its commissioning in summer 2010, the facility contributes to a reduction in CO2 emissions and thus to Swiss climate protection targets.
With this forward-looking and environmentally friendly energy production with feed-in to the natural gas network, approximately 3,000 households or 3,000 vehicles can be supplied with biogas per year.
