The Gäubahn footbridge replaces the existing narrow footbridge (the original Gäubahn-Brüggli) at the SBB Gäubahn bridge and connects the districts of Olten on both sides of the Aare for slow traffic. The total costs for the footbridge amount to approximately 6.2 million francs. Construction began in October 2008. The previous footbridge will be demolished in approximately one year once the lines running along the structure have been relocated.
