Renovation of BLS Workshop Spiez

The workshop in Spiez was in poor structural condition. Part of the old workshop was replaced by a larger new hall. It is 145 meters long and 38 meters wide. It is a steel construction with prefabricated facade elements. The new building provides sufficient space for servicing the 105-meter-long trains. The old washing system was replaced by a modern, environmentally friendly facility. The track connections, the workshop track field including switches, as well as railway power and safety systems were also renewed.
