The Conversion
The postal operations building at Lucerne railway station is to be converted for the University of Lucerne with a maximum of 2,600 students as well as for a portion of the 1,250 students of the Central Switzerland University of Teacher Education. The processing perimeter includes the existing postal operations building as well as the entire plot area. The competition is intended to produce high-quality, economical projects. High functionality, high interior qualities, careful and economical handling of the existing building fabric, and a convincing architectural and constructively appropriate solution are central objectives.
