WestLink Zurich
The up-and-coming Zurich Altstetten district is to be developed sustainably. To this end, SBB is realizing the WestLink project. By 2014, an attractive quarter with shops, restaurants as well as residential and office space was created on the back of Zurich Altstetten railway station at the municipal Vulkanplatz with the new tram turning loop.
On the WestLink site covering more than 23,000 m2, SBB is constructing four buildings: Connex, Plaza, Tower and Kubus. In a first step, the new information pavilion for train travelers (Connex) was completed by spring 2012 and the Plaza building complex was completed by 2014. The Plaza includes commercial and office space as well as 80 apartments. SBB will occupy the office space itself. In a second step, SBB realized the 80-meter-high Tower and the Kubus. These buildings are designed for service space. The ground floor of the Kubus will also house shops and restaurants.

The investment volume for the WestLink project is 220 million francs
