Today, a unique building in Switzerland stands in Weiningen. What is special about it is that all concrete components were made from recycled concrete with 75% mixed demolition aggregate.
The "Richi Immobilien AG" in Weiningen demonstrated with their newly constructed office building that components made from such concrete can meet different requirements for structural design and exposure classes (weathered, non-weathered, ground contact). For the concrete shell construction, which was carried out from June to December 2010, Richi specified that exclusively concrete made from mixed demolition aggregate should be used. In total, 2400 m³ of recycled concrete was used.
