Energy supply for the University Irchel is provided via 8 transformer stations from the EWZ medium-voltage network
of 22kV. The total annual energy consumption including parking garage and sports facilities is 22GWh. Of this,
1.5GWh is attributable to the fourth stage.
Emergency power supply is provided by 7 diesel systems with a total capacity of 2.2MW. In the fourth stage,
another system with two engines of 300kW each was installed. One of these engines was configured as a combined heat and power plant.
