At Bergkapellweg 1 in 8180 Bülach, the Rohn-Salvisberg Foundation is realizing a sustainable new building with 15 age-appropriate apartments (12 x 2.5-, 2 x 3.5- and 1 x 4.5-room) by spring 2026. The architecture by Galli Rudolf Architekten integrates the new building harmoniously into the existing settlement and connects it via a single-story garden pavilion with cafeteria and community rooms. Technically, the project relies on a ground source heat pump for heating and passive cooling as well as photovoltaic systems on the roofs. Planning follows the Sustainable Construction Standard Switzerland (SNBS) and the Energy Efficiency Path of SIA 2040.
