The central prison is located south of the penal institution in the existing gravel pit. It consists of three full storeys and an attic storey. The building is separated from the outside world by a seven-meter-high concrete wall and has just over 100 cell spaces.
Access is via the outer service yard through the airlock area. On the ground floor there are entrance area, administration, visitor area and care services, as well as an efficient kitchen office, a dining/multipurpose room and a linen room.
Building services are located in the basement. The remaining floor space is used for correctional purposes in the following types of detention: semi-detention, youth department and disciplinary department.
Pre-trial detention is housed on the upper floor. There are also rooms for special detention here. The infrastructure facilities are located directly on the floors and ensure efficient staffing.
