Here we present the new construction of a three-star superior hotel with an adjoining business center. The Trafo Hotel offers 81 double and single rooms.
The design emphasizes integrating the factory hall character. «The challenge was to ideally integrate the adjacent industrial hall, which is under monument protection and will be used as an event location in the future,» says architect Stefan Wetzel from Atelier West Architekten. The materials used in the hotel interior are derived from an industrial context. Silvery metallic colors dominate the halls and corridors, while copper and bronze characterize the rooms. The decades-long industrial history is recalled on each floor with old, oversized black and white murals of the former production halls. A total of 45 of the 81 hotel rooms have a direct view into the 14-meter-high industrial hall.
