The Staudenbühl school swimming facility, built in the early 1970s and listed in the inventory of objects worthy of architectural and cultural-historical protection, is in need of renovation. The renovation includes careful handling of the existing building substance from an architectural, operational, building-technical and ecological perspective, coupled with spatial adaptation. The existing lighting, which no longer meets today's requirements, will be brought into harmony with the architecturally valuable interior space. In the electrical area, the energy technology will be renewed. In place of the current garage and workshop, the swimming instructor's office with associated wet room accessible via an anteroom, the disabled toilet with shower, and the ground-level emergency exit will be designed. The entire interior fit-out – surfaces, swimming pool with side stairs, changing rooms, wet rooms with washbasins, etc. – should correspond as closely as possible to the original image from a monument preservation perspective. The construction work will be carried out during ongoing school operations.
