- Titel Abschnitt 1
- Improved energy efficiency for the Les Vernets ice rink
- Lead Text
- As part of the energy renovation project of the Les Vernets ice rink, the existing installations were made cleaner by significantly reducingthe ammonia load. This refurbishment led by the City of Geneva reduced energy consumption throughout the site and recovered waste heat. The ambitious project was carried out as part of the City of Geneva’s climate strategy and was successfully completedon an operational site thanks to the provision of temporary ice rinks and refrigeration systems.
- Beschreibung 1
- Built several decades ago, the installations of the Les Vernets sports complex had the highest energy con-sumption of any building in the City of Geneva’s portfolio. The renovation of the complex was essential to ensure that it met current environmental and safety standards could be met.
Our teams installed higher-performance equipment to achieve significant energy savings while significantly reducing the site’s carbon footprint. Savings from heat recovery alone are estimated to reach around 800 tonnes of CO₂ per year.
